We acted as general contractor for this project designed to reuse process wastewater for cooling at the Carty Natural Gas Power Plant owned and operated by Portland General Electric. The work required tie-in to an existing 8-inch HDPE wastewater pipe that ran to a concrete cooling tower basin. The pipe transitions to stainless steel as it exits the ground and is supported by a structural steel support on a concrete pier.
There were grounding wires not shown on the plans that needed to be cut in order to install the piping. We also had duct banks that were buried underground and not shown on the plans that needed to have the piping threaded under them. There was also winter weather conditions that slowed the work more than expected.
