The project involved the removal and replacement of a critical turbine isolation valve to improve system reliability and support future maintenance operations.
Our scope included valve procurement, precision fit-up, and commissioning, all completed under a planned outage to minimize downtime. This upgrade enhances plant safety, ensures better flow control, and extends the overall service life of the hydro unit.
The owner had to schedule a full plant outage to allow us to complete the scope of work, so we worked closely with the owner to develop an efficient work plan for installation. Getting the valve from the top landing to the powerhouse was also a challenge, requiring engineering verification of the bridge loading we had to cross.
